Creating The 2022 Special Olympics USA Games Logo

This short documentary film, below, by Academy Award Winning Director, Rayka Zehtabchi tells the unique and powerful story of how 9 Special Olympics athletes came together over a weekend and created the 2022 Special Olympics USA Games logo.

The 2022 Special Olympics USA Games logo is the product of the hard work and amazing talents of 9 Special Olympics athletes who were guided by a professional creative team from Publicis Seattle.

We hosted a weekend workshop where each of the athletes contributed their own inspiration and individual stories to a collaborative design process. A wide range of artists participated, each specializing in different medium.  Whether painting, fashion design, or even decorating with frosting, each brought their own unique talents to the table.

These individuals embody what Special Olympics is all about. The positivity, creativity and camaraderie was on full display throughout the weekend.  Artwork from each participant was used in the creation of the final 2022 Special Olympics USA Games logo.
